Economic relations between Estonia and Germany have become increasingly close and diverse over the years. Both trade volumes and investment have grown. While economic cooperation with Germany is broad-based, our key focus areas for export promotion are information and communication technology, the defence industry, metal, machinery and electronics, wood products and modular construction, as well as the maritime industry. In recent years, German companies have made significant investments in Estonia’s energy, defence and logistics sectors. A notable event in 2025 was the opening of the Estonian company Skeleton’s manufacturing plant near Leipzig.
